Red Dead Redemption 2 is an action-adventure game developed and published by Rockstar Games. It was released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in October 2018, and for Microsoft Windows and Stadia in November 2019. The game is the third entry in the Red Dead series and is a prequel to the 2010 game Red Dead Redemption. The story is set in 1899 and follows outlaw Arthur Morgan, a member of the Van der Linde gang, who must deal with the decline of the Wild West while meeting a wide cast of characters. The game, which had an eight-year development, features music by Woody Jackson and Daniel Lanois, including the original song "Unshaken" by D'Angelo. Following its release, the game received critical acclaim, earning numerous year-end accolades. The online multiplayer mode, Red Dead Online, was released as a beta version in November 2018 before a full release in May 2019.
